Scuderie of the Visconti Castle - the project

The project Scuderie of the Visconti Castle has been ideated by Alef - cultural project management in collaboration with the City Council in order to increase in value and distinguish the expositive area with a high profile cultural schedule. This will allows Pavia to create a new “cultural pole” characterized by an intense planning ability.
Scuderie, thanks to its winning and innovative offer and to its lucky setting in the beautiful context of the Visconti Castle of Pavia, are beginning to look a prestigious and flexible open space, suitable for several events: from big exhibitions to artistic and experimental appointments, from conferences to editorial presentations.

The place

The space of Scuderie is settled in the princely palace commissioned by Galeazzo Visconti in the later 14th century for Pavia, only 20 minutes far from Milano.
The internal fronts of the castle are one of the most particular manifestations of Gothic Lombard architecture and from the end of the second world war the Castle is the seat of the City Museums of Pavia which includes important art works from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance printed by big masters such as Antonello Da Messina, Pollaiolo and many others.
